Congratulations! You have made a wise investment in this program.
But I have some news for you: Simply investing in this program will not make you more successful. Do you know what will make you more successful?
Following through with this program!
So, let me take this opportunity to remind you of -- and, I hope, encourage you with -- three simple keys that apply to anything you want to accomplish, including getting paid to speak at associations.
After you've read this, I'll give you a worksheet that you can use on a daily and/or weekly basis to help you stay focused and keep moving forward on the things that matter most.
1. FOCUS.
There will always be more opportunities than you can take advantage of. Indeed, there are many worthwhile endeavors that can enhance your speaking business. But you can't do everything right now. Instead, just do the right thing, right now.
By investing in this program, you've said getting paid to speak at associations is a priority. So, let's keep that as a priority.
That means if, next week, an invitation comes along to learn how to get paid to speak at colleges, you say "no" -- because right now, you're focused on getting paid to speak at associations.
And not just right now, but for at least the next 90 days. Better yet, six months. Better still, 12 months.
Remember, nothing “works” overnight, so anytime you say “yes” to something, stick with that something for a while to give it -- and YOU -- a chance to succeed.
2. SIMPLIFY.
When you're focused on something, you will keep working and working to figure out how to make it a reality. The most efficient way to achieve your goals, though, is to map out the most simple path from "here" to "there."
The good news is that that's exactly what this program is for -- and that's probably a big reason you're here. Maybe you've tried and tried for years, to the point it felt like you were just beating your head against the wall.
But now, in this Speaker Marketing Toolkit: Association Edition, I'll break it all down, step by step, for you, so you know exactly what to do.
How do you find the right speaking opportunities? Follow the instructions in week one.
How do you demonstrate your credibility as a speaker? Follow the instructions in week two.
How do you stand out from all the other speakers? Follow the instructions in week three.
How do you reach out to meeting planners and other prospective clients in a way that it will get their attention but not annoy them? Follow the instructions in week four.
This process isn't always easy -- there's a reason it's called work! -- but it doesn't have to be complicated. I'll show you the simple path to success.
3. EXECUTE.
This final key is often implied, but it's worth stating explicitly:
Being focused and having a simple, step-by-step plan -- very important. But it's only when you execute the plan that you will see results. As Napoleon Hill said, you have to plan the work, and then you have to work the plan.
Take action — and keep taking action!
Step by step, moment by moment.
It’s not sexy, but it’s a winning formula.
Remember the goals you’re working toward, and remember that each action you take — no matter how small — is moving you one step closer to achieving those goals and allowing you to experience the benefits of achieving those goals.
Are you ready? You can do this. And I'm going to be right here with you.
Let's go! (And, let's have some fun along the way!!)
To your success -
Shawn
